Who we are

Recurra is a membership-billing platform used by Canadian dental practices to run their in-house membership plans. A membership is a direct service agreement between you and your dental practice. Your practice decides what your plan includes; Recurra handles enrollment records and monthly billing on the practice's behalf.

What we collect

We store only what a membership needs to run:

  • Your first name and last initial.
  • Your email address and phone number, if you provide them.
  • The plan you are enrolled in and its monthly fee.
  • A record of each monthly charge and its outcome, kept as a permanent ledger.
  • Which included services you have used in the current term (for example, a cleaning), recorded as a date and a service type only.
  • A reference token for your pre-authorized payment method and the last 4 digits for display. We never see or store your full bank account or card number.

What we never collect

Recurra holds no clinical information. No diagnoses, treatment notes, x-rays, or chart data of any kind. That information stays with your dental practice, where it belongs.

How your information is used

Only to operate your membership: collecting your monthly fee, telling you when a payment fails or recovers, tracking the included services you have used, and giving your practice an accurate picture of its plan. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

How it is protected

  • Every practice's data is isolated at the database level — one practice can never read another's records.
  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Every time staff view or change member records, an audit entry records who, what, and when.
  • Payment details are held by our payment processor, not by Recurra.

How long we keep it

Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. When your membership ends, you can ask your practice to have your contact details removed; the billing ledger is then kept without your name, email, or phone number attached.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for corrections, or withdraw your consent and end your membership at any time. Start with your dental practice, or contact us directly at privacy@recurra.health. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If something goes wrong

If a breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify the affected practices and members and report it to the Privacy Commissioner, as the law requires.
